Deciding to become an entrepreneur is bold, daring, and even scary. Even if you enter into this
knowing what you want to do, sell, or provide, there are many questions to answer. Here are a few:
● What is the name?
● How much do I charge?
● How do I enter the marketplace?
● Do I need a website?
And the list goes on. As you prepare for 2023, it is a great time to evaluate your workflow and processes, your organization, and if you can afford to hire.
Hiring help is a major financial decision. Someone’s livelihood depends on your financial books. Regardless, having someone on hand to help is necessary as you grow. Let’s explore some telltale signs you need to hire:

1. How’s your customer service?
   Monster writes, One of the most obvious signs that it’s time to hire is when your level of customer service begins to falter. If clients start calling you about missed deadlines or incomplete tasks, it could be a sign that your team is stretched to the max. Not hiring adequate staff, if it’s gotten to this point, can damage your company’s reputation or result in employee burn out.
   Customer service is vital because customers are royalty. Some might argue whether they are always right. However, once you get them, you need to retain them. Unread e-mails, delayed responses, or unwanted claims are just a few things that can cause your business to crumble. Social media and word of mouth spread information like wildfire. Trolls are real but ignoring paying customers is not wise.
2. Are you spreading yourself too thin?
   Keap suggests, All work and no play makes for one burnt-out entrepreneur. If your small business has grown to the point where your hours are steadily increasing just to complete the bare minimum of your work. It’s probably time for an addition.
   You don’t want your dream to die or fizzle because you did not know when you ask for help. Even if you can do it all does not mean you should. Anything you can unload from your plate will make you a better leader. Time is money. Burning the candle at both ends does not equate to success.

   Meeting your deadlines proves reliability. You secure more contracts when you can prove that your work is worthy of the purse. More contracts mean more money. Happy clients turn into repeat customers and your best form of marketing. Hiring help allows you to thrive in your zone of genius. An assistant can help you meet deadlines, respond to social media posts and comments, and do any necessary hand-holding.
   Answering yes to those questions does not guarantee you are ready for hired assistance. Determining your financial ability and stability isn’t easy, but necessary for your peace of mind and overall success. Start small. Consider the jobs you have neglected or overlooked; hiring for the tasks you consider tedious or mundane is even okay. Make a list of your needs, so you don’t hire out of desperation because good help, great help is hard to find.
   Start with part-time or contract hire. Relinquishing control is risky, but you need to start somewhere. Part-time help can provide help for a specific number of hours each week. After doing all the work, you should be able to guesstimate how long some tasks will take. Be clear, gracious, and flexible.
   If you have recognized a feeble skill set, ask trusted mentors, friends, or organizations you associate with for help. Contract help is perfect for specific tasks. You can secure one for long or short-term cycles. If things aren’t working out, you can tough it out until the contract is over.
   Hiring help allows you to regain focus, expand your goals, increase productivity, or even switch gears. Make smart decisions for your company and yourself as you move into 2023. Your dream doesn’t deserve to die because you couldn’t see the forest for the trees. Don’t allow pride and selfishness to swallow you and cause you to drown.
